Sad day in Pittsburgh
A Beloved Pittsburgh Native and Icon Myron Cope passed away on Wednesday at age 79. The memorable voice of Myron Cope was heard for over 30 years. Many Steeler fans will remember Myrons "Yoi" and "Double Yoi" letting them know that something important just happened in the game. Myron Cope was the only football commentator who was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Friday was declared "Terrible Towel Day" by Pittsburgh' Mayor and a Memorial Service was held in Downtown Pittsburgh at the City County Building. There were hundreds in attendance and they observed a moment of silence while everyone waved their Terrible Towels in Myron's memory. Myron Cope will be remembered fondly by many.
